Imminent Danger – Dealing with Suicide and Suicidal Ideation
The advanced CMiS course offers further techniques to deal with specific crisis events on individual, school and community level and with the planning of prevention strategies. All applicants should have passed the basic ESPCT course on crisis management in schools first, before attending this advanced training course.
The advanced CMiS course will contain the following topics:
- Coping with threats
- Coping with suicide and suicide warning signs
- Cognitive-behavioural and creative counselling techniques for recovery after a crisis experience
- School-based strategies for supporting the understanding between local people and refugees at school
- School-based strategies for interventions after a terrorist attack
- Guiding Safe School Initiatives and Community Resilience also when schools accommodate many refugee children
